Shared starting point
Both start from planetary positions at birth. Human Design calculates two moments: birth itself and the moment when the Sun was 88 degrees earlier, about three months before birth.
Different language
Astrology speaks in signs, houses and aspects. Human Design translates positions into 64 gates on a BodyGraph with nine centers, and from that derives a type, a strategy and an inner authority.
Different focus
Astrology describes personality themes and life areas. Human Design concentrates on energy and decision-making: how you best respond, when you have consistent energy and where you are open to the influence of others.
Using both
Many people use astrology to understand their inner themes and Human Design to try out a practical way of making decisions. Neither replaces the other.
